Kyle is an experienced psychotherapist who has worked in mental health, addiction, domestic violence and specialist psychotherapy programmes.  He specialises in addictions, the effects of trauma and anxiety.

He sees men and women for short term solution focussed counselling and longer term intensive psychotherapy.

Kyle is trained in both behavioural and psychodynamic therapies, including Dialectical Behaviour Therapy or “DBT”.  He has a particular interest in alcohol and drug problems, childhood trauma and anger problems.

Kyle is also a regular co-host of NewstalkZB’s Mental Health awareness show “The Nutters Club” and the regular mental health columnist for the New Zealand Herald. To hear him on the Nutters Club, or to read his past columns for the NZ Herald see his blog “Off the Couch

Kyle has held a number of professional roles and is currently serving on the Psychotherapists Board of Aotearoa New Zealand (PBANZ), and was the NZAP representative on the ACC Sensitive Claims Advisory Group (SCAG) from 2010 until 2014.  He was also on the  New Zealand Association of Psychotherapists National Council as convener of Public Issues from 2012 – 2016.
